They are a gift, a gift we sometimes take for granted. I am one of the lucky people on this earth that has that gift. We are five years apart and as my older sister, she has protected me from day one. Growing up she was my hero, in my eyes there was nothing she could not do and now at an older age, she has proven to me that my childhood hero has conquered the world even at the most difficult times. When I was a teen I must have been the most unruly teenager she ever had to encounter, oh we fought and screamed and were pretty sure we wanted to kill each other but at the end of the day she was always there, and boy did we have the time of our lives. We party, we laugh, we cry, I can truly say that I don't regret any of it. At 17 I moved away and for many years we lived apart and the miles apart put a wedge between us, but we found our way back to each other and we had to learn about each other again, after many tears we are closer than ever. We have held each other in many difficult times, and come to realize that we have each other in this very small circle we call family. I have not walked a mile in her shoes but I can feel what she has been through and how strong it has made her. I am extremely proud of the wife, mother, sister, and friend she has become. I can only hope that life grants me 40 more years to laugh, cry and continue to have the time of my life right by her side.

TQM...With lots of love your little Sis
